Play with a friend

Open Play online and choose Create room. Share the eight-character code with your friend. They can open Play online, enter the code and choose Join room. Both phones connect automatically to the same game server.

Reconnecting

Keep the online game open while playing. If a phone stops sending heartbeats, the game pauses after about 30 seconds and allows another 60 seconds to reconnect. Returning after the deadline may count as a loss. If both players remain offline, the room closes without a score. Leaving an unfinished joined game counts as a loss.

Rooms and rematches

Waiting invitations expire after ten minutes and rooms accept only two players. Both players must choose Play again before a new round starts. X starts the first round; rematches alternate between X and O. The online board shows each player’s wins and draws for that room. If a code is unavailable, create a new room after leaving the previous one.

Scores

Local and online scores are separate. Online scores belong to the guest session on that device/server; an expired or lost guest credential cannot recover them. Reset local statistics affects only local scores.

Connection problems

Check that both phones have internet access, reopen Play online and try Reconnect when offered. Local two-player and computer modes remain available without the server. Closing or backgrounding the online screen stops its presence heartbeat.

Report a problem

Include your app version, iPhone/iPad model, iOS version, what happened, approximate time and a screenshot if helpful. Do not include passwords, bearer tokens or sensitive information. Find the app version in Settings.
